The following content-rich, educational programs are being offered to youth and their families that are home-schooled. The following programs will take place at Camp Allegany, Allegany State Park.

Nature Ed-Ventures is pleased to collaborate with the Hamburg Recreation Dept. in offering a monthly series of programs to home-schooled families. These programs are held on the second Thursday of most months from 1:30-3:00 pm at the Recreation Dept. building in Hamburg. Please call for further information. Fee: $5 per person for workshops (4 and under free.)
Check back in the near future for information on two developing programs that will be 6-8 weeks in length and designed for those ages 12 and above. These in-depth programs will run 1.5 hours in length with their location to be determined in the Hamburg area.) One will focus on various aspects of chemistry; the other – The Year of the Tree – will consist of indoor and outdoor classroom activities to help students understand trees and the role they play in our environment. Among the activities to be presented are nature journaling, making connections in the forest ecosystem, exploring the uses of trees, monitoring biodiversity in a local ecosystem, measuring tree growth and writing history through the eye of a tree.
